About me

My work is characterized by a blend of clay, textiles, found objects and non traditional materials. I explore the intersections of form and context, while addressing themes of identity and the passage of time. I elicit the textures of music, children's stories, nature and mythology. I earned a BFA in Sculpture from Sonoma State University where I received technical training in studio ceramics. I taught high school ceramics for a decade and managed a ceramics program in Sonoma, California before relocating to an isolated community on the Panama Canal where I continued my practice of creating and teaching, drawing inspiration from the tropical forest. In 2016 I moved to Princeton, New Jersey, where I am currently resident artist and Fellow at Huo College, Princeton University. I have the great fortune of teaching and engaging with university students, sharing my knowledge and experiences.

In addition to my home studio, I teach adults and teens hand-building and wheel-throwing classes and a variety of workshops at the Arts Council in Princeton's Witherspoon Jackson neighborhood.
